Game of Thrones: A Storm of Swords (Book 3)
So...ummm...yeah...my jaw dropped when I completed this book. BEST BOOK EVER!!!! I believe I just became a scifi/fantasy fan.
Unlike the third season of Game of Thrones, there is barely a mention of Theon Greyjoy. He doesn't have his own chapter/storyline as he did in "A Clash of Kings" (book 2). My favorite characters have always been Arya, Jon, and Tyrion; my love for them has grown in this book. I love Arya's strength and tenacity, Jon's leadership capabilities despite his inner conflicts, and Tyrion's wit and cleverness. There are deaths galore...some anticipated and some not. I was shocked numerous times with the plot development. I can't wait for season 4! And I should be able to finish the series before it's aired on HBO. Yes I'm excited about that. Lol
If you're worried about the book ruining the show for you or the show ruining the book for you, don't. The battles might be recreated differently on the screen but the emotion and viciousness of the scene is sill present. There are about 7 kings fighting for control of the Seven Kingdoms and it gets severely intense. Like any war, there are betrayals and deceits along with the surprise alliances and unbelievable loyalties. I can't say much else without giving away any spoilers but I would definitely recommend the book!
