At first I thought would recommend this book to everyone. The suspense built, the drama was just right, the characters weren't overdone...and then the end came and I felt duped. It ruined my experience with the book. It felt too perfect, almost like a Hallmark or Disney movie. Cecilia and John Paul are married; Tess and Will are married. These marriages are both tested and put through so much. Then pops up a 20 year old murder mystery. Rachel, the elementary school secretary is convinced that a teacher killed her daughter. The book is actually very well written and I did enjoy it. The resolution is what bothered me the most. Maybe there are differences in American and Australian cultures but the ending was like swallowing a bitter pill for me.
