The Vow by Kim Carpenter
I had to take a break from reading this book in chapter 2 less I die from excessive crying. Lol Hearing about the movie released earlier this year, I wasn't excited or interested in the story. I've never heard the Carpenter's story and thought it was going to be similar to the Adam Sandler movie, 50 First Dates. You quickly realize that the stories are very different. Kim and Krickitt met incidentally over the phone and began a long distance relationship. This was 2 decades ago and their phone bills were astronomical! They eventually marry and weeks after their honeymoon their lives drastically change and will never be the same. Krickitt suffers a critical head injury in a car crash. They begin their relationship from the beginning as strangers because Krickitt has no recollection of Kim or the last 18 months of her life. There's no way I could see this movie, I wouldn't be able to stop crying. I'm happy they were able to find love in each other again and they did it with their faith and support from family and numerous friends. The resolve they have to make heir relationship flourish and the love they have...it's very refreshing and inspiring.
