The Time Machine by H.G. Wells

Initially when I chose this book read, I thought I was going to struggle for weeks to understand it. There are moments where I am utterly clueless as to why just happened but the overall story was never lost. If possible, try to read this book in one sitting though. The fluidity of the narration goes up and down and it might be a while before getting back into the rhythm of the story. There are abstract sections; mainly because of the science theories but it doesn't take away from the overall content of the novel.

The book is short, about 100 pages. The story of the Time Traveler is told from a friend of his' perspective. The Time Traveler invites his group of friends to dinner to them of his travel to the future; the year 802,701to be actual. The stories of the world and the human race at that time are intriguing. Some accounts even seem possible. The Time Traveler recounts his tales of love and loss and battle. I thoroughly enjoyed this book.

  1. This is definitely a classic that I want to get my hands on. I'm doing a lot of reading challenges that have this listed as a book I should read.
