I have been wanting to read this book for months. The upcoming release of the movie has me to read it. i am currently forcing myself not to read the next book in the series; that's how good this book is. Even though it's a quick and easy read, that doesn't take away from the content of the novel. There were moments where I could figure out what would happen next but it wouldn't happen the way I thought I would. I enjoyed this book to the last sentence and wanted more always. I never wanted to stop reading. Craving for what would happen next for Katniss and Peeta.
Katniss and Peeta must fight for their lives in a time decades, maybe centuries, from now. They are fighting others from 11 other districts. Apparently this is all that exists of the world and it isn't entirely explained what happened. I hope this is later revealed in the series. This book is focused on Katniss and her predicament. She fights to return home to her only sister and widowed mother and her longtime best friend Gale (a male, I was confused by the name at first). They're both fighting to bring a winner to their district, which hasn't had one in 30 years. I can't urge someone to read this book any more. It is just that AWESOME!
