A World I Never Made by James LePore

A suspense thriller novel that touches topics relevant to today's adult American citizen. More than a father's search for his daughter, this book gives the reader insight on terrorism in the Muslim world. It isn't much but I learned from this book. Pat didn't have much of a connection with his only child, Megan but he still wasn't prepared to cope with her alleged suicide. When he is shown the body, he realizes it isn't her and knows something went wrong in her life. Megan had left the United States years before her "suicide" and was living recklessly in Europe. Pat searches for his daughter throughout the continent not knowing who to trust or believe. As the reader follows Pat on his search, the reader also learns what happens to Megan, what provoked her to fake her suicide. It was a quick read and there were many moments where I was anticipating what would happen next. Better than I thought it would be, I very much recommend this book.
